What’s the Best Takedown and Why?

I think ankle-picks are safe and look real cool when you get them. It’s a cool move because it always makes your opponent look silly.

Here’s a nice shot of an ankle-pick taken by Murray at Mid Cals this year. Don’t know who the guy is but he hit a nice one.

Nice Ankle-pick

Also here is is a clip of Cael Sanderson using the ankle pick to set up his double. Real slick.

  1. duck man

    firemans dump
    because its the best

The best takedown is the Hi-C.

You can choose from either sticking to one leg or two legs a lift or a dump and even a crack down.

A Hi-C can be done from an under hook, inside tight or even from the outside with a tap and go. By far one of the best and most versatile takedowns.

I agree with the Hi-C. It’s a quick takeown and you don’t even need to be tied up to hit it. And from there you have 4 to 5 different finishes. Personally I like to hit it from an overhook or inside tie and get a fireman’s with it.

  4. gabe

top 3 takedowns at all levels. most anything else is a variation or setup of another.
    1. double leg
    2. single leg
    3. spin around from a front head lock
