Wrestler Nation representatives all post winning records at Duals
Boris Novachkov, Cody Rodenbaugh, Nathan Nguyen, and Abe Matsui all posted winning records this past weekend at the Association Duals in Bakersfield. As a team, SCVWA finished 4th in Greco Roman and 6th in Freestyle. Novachkov went 8-0 for the weekend, and along with Andre Gonzalez of Silver Creek, were the only undefeated wrestlers on Team SCVWA. His list of impressive wins included a tech. fall over KCWA wrestler Frank Lomas, 6-0, 7-0. Rodenbaugh went 4-2 for the weekend.
The young freshman looked impressive with his wide variety throws during the Greco-Roman portion of the tournament. Nguyen, who split time with Ryan Block of Salinas, went 3-1 and recorded 3 falls during the tournament. Nguyen looked most impressive during the Freestyle going undefeated. Matsui also went 3-1. The Jr. from Westmont high school won his only Greco match on Saturday. and went 2-1 during Freestyle.
