Novachkov wins Greco Roman Jr Nationals, Rodenbaugh All-Americans in Cadets!

Wrestler Nation produced two All-Americans in the Greco-Roman portion of the Cadet/Jr National Championships taking place in Fargo, North Dakota. Boris Novachkov won his 2nd Jr National title in Greco-Roman with a 5-2, 1-1 win over John Trumbetti of New Jersey. In the first period Novachkov was down 2-0 when he hit a spectacular 5 point throw to end the period. In the second period he fought off a furious gut wench attempt by Trumbetti to secure his national championship. Boris went 9-0 over the 2 days of competition. He will have a day of rest before competing in the Freestyle portion of the championships. Boris was a double winner at 98lbs in 2005.

Cody Rodenbaugh had a solid performance at the Cadet Nationals. Rodenbaugh won the 5th place match over Florida’s Chase Gordon 6-0, 4-4, 2-1. This is the first time Cody has achieved All-American status. Cody, who was a Cadet state triple crown winner this year, was 8-2 over the 2 days of competition. Cody will start Freestyle tomorrow and will attempt to become a double All-American.

Congratulations to both!
